Overview
The Montepio Museum website was created to present and preserve the institution’s historical legacy in a clear, accessible and visually coherent digital format. The platform centralizes museum information, archival content, and key narratives about Montepio’s heritage while reflecting the brand’s official identity guidelines. The goal was to provide visitors with an intuitive and elegant browsing experience that reinforces the institution’s cultural and historical relevance.
My Role
I was responsible for designing the main pages of the Montepio Museum website and implementing the entire project in WordPress using WPBakery and custom code (with the exception of the “Património” page, which required API integration and was implemented by a colleague).
Starting from Montepio’s graphic guidelines, I developed the full visual direction of the website, defining layout structures, establishing a clear visual hierarchy, selecting and applying brand-approved colors and typography, and ensuring that the interface conveyed the institution’s formal, historical and trustworthy character. All high-fidelity UI screens were designed in Figma before moving into development.
During implementation, I translated each part of the design into a functional WordPress structure. My focus was on accurate reproduction of the prototypes, responsive behavior across all breakpoints, and maintaining a consistent, polished interface throughout the entire site.
