Project

Overview

The HTC research platform was created to centralize and present the group's scientific output, projects, researchers, publications and events in a structured, accessible and interconnected digital format. The website needed to organize a complex network of information while maintaining clarity, academic credibility and usability. Designed fully in Figma and implemented in WordPress, the platform integrates multiple content types and cross-references, allowing visitors to explore research themes, past and ongoing projects, and team members with ease. The resulting website functions as a comprehensive institutional hub that supports both public visibility and internal scientific communication.

My Role

I was responsible for designing the main pages of the HTC research group website and implementing the entire project in WordPress using WPBakery, GridBuilder, PHP, and custom code. I adapted the initial PHP structure provided by a colleague to support the complex interconnections and content management required by the platform.

Following the Figma prototypes, I developed the full visual direction, defining layout structures, visual hierarchy, and interface behavior. I ensured that all components were user-friendly, consistent, and aligned with the research group’s identity, while designing all high-fidelity UI screens in Figma before development.

During implementation, I translated the designs into a functional WordPress website, focusing on accurate reproduction of the prototypes, seamless navigation across interconnected content, and responsive behavior across all devices. My work also included fine-tuning interactive elements with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to ensure a polished and cohesive user experience.
